On Stage at the #MillicanMusicFestival

Geoff Spahr

No stranger to the Texas Music scene, Geoff has actively been playing acoustic and full band shows for more years than he likes to admit. As the number of miles have gotten somewhat smaller in recent years with attention spread to other areas of life, he has continued to actively write, improve, and bring his brand of music to various Texas stage. Entertaining and enjoying all the experiences that come along the journey, he has released two full length albums, enjoyed regional radio play and been invited to play at some of the most established and coveted venues across the state- and also with some of the most established artists. With sites set on new recordings and projects in the near future, more shows, songs, and miles are sure to return.

Joey McGee and the Post Hole Diggers

When singer-songwriter Joey McGee categorizes his work as roots music, he’s not just referring to the blend of soul, country, blues and rock commonly called Americana. He’s talking about his own roots, cultivated in his native New Orleans, nurtured by a sojourn in San Antonio and a much longer one in Pittsburgh, and planted deeply in his current home of Bryan, Texas.

James Lann

James grew up on cattle ranches in the southwest and has been making his own way through life since he was 15. Always passionate about songwriting, he's been touring and making music for many years. He has performed in over 20 countries and thousands of cities, while still taking care of his son, Mason.

James has accomplished many wonderful things in his career. He has released 3 successful albums and hit the charts with his songs. Six of his compositions hit Billboard Texas Regional Charts at number one.

Who We Are

The Millican Alliance is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization serving the Brazos Valley community.  We connect our community to nature through high quality education programs and outdoor experiences focused on wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation, the arts, and sustainable agriculture.

Children and adults today spend less than half the time outdoors engaged in unstructured activities when compared to prior generations.  Time in nature improves physical health, mental and emotional wellbeing, longevity, and general happiness.

We believe that communities connected to nature are healthy communities.

What We Do

In the last several years, the Millican Alliance has continued its outreach and programming … leading even more people of all ages back into nature. We have partnered with local schools to host hands-on nature and science education classes throughout the school year. We have grown the Camp Millican summer camp and youth leadership program, reaching kids ages 4 to 16 years old and offering 6+ weeks of programming. In addition, the Millican Alliance has partnered with the TAMU/USDA Agribility program to launch Battle Ground to Breaking Ground, a Veteran Farmer Training program designed to teach Vets returning from combat the skills of farming and ranching.

Our Mission

We believe that connecting with nature improves mental and physical wellbeing, and that the health of a community improves as its members spend more time outdoors and in nature.

We envision a world where children and adults are learning and playing in nature every day.

Our mission is to provide outdoor resources and education and to inspire future leaders in the Brazos Valley so that the community, both children and adults, becomes healthier and energized through an ever-improving connection to nature.

How You Can Help

On behalf of the Millican Alliance and our educational partners, thank you for supporting our mission and helping us grow as a healthier community.  Our goal and pleasure is to bring high quality programs to this region while employing the beautiful Texas landscape as a backdrop for children and adults to play and learn.  We value the wonder, creativity and curiosity that is cultivated through a safe and thoughtful interaction with nature.

With your help, in the coming year we will continue to expand our footprint by laying a broad framework to grow our education and outreach programs.  Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at Pumpkinpalooza!

 FAQ's

Got Pumpkinpalooza questions?

Here are answers to some of the ones we get most frequently:

What, when, and where is Pumpkinpalooza?

Pumpkinpalooza is an annual fall festival benefitting the Millican Alliance.

This year, Pumpkinpalooza will occur on October 17, 2020.

The weekend will include a pumpkin patch, the Pumpkinpalooza Trail Run, and the Millican Music Festival.

Pumpkinpalooza is held at the Millican Reserve farm entrance.  The address is 19851 FM 2154 (Wellborn Road) in south College Station.

What Covid safety measures will be in place?

Pumpkinpalooza 2020 will have extensive safety measures in place to help ensure the safety of participants.  Please do your part to help #slowthespread.

You may not enter any Pumpkinpalooza events if you are feeling ill or exhibiting any signs of Covid-19.

Please see the Pumpkinpalooza Trail Run registration site for details on race safety protocols.

At the Millican Music Festival, measures are in place to keep participants at a safe, social distance from one another.  You may sit in designated areas where no more than 10 people may enjoy the event together.

You will be required to have a mask on to enter Pumpkinpalooza and as you navigate around food trucks and other community areas.  Although masks are not required everywhere, we ask that you consider wearing your mask at all times during the event.  Our staff and food vendors will be wearing masks.

Hand washing stations will be available in various locations at Pumpkinpalooza, and staff will regularly wipe down and sanitize community areas.

Is there an entry fee?

There is an entry fee for both the Pumpkinpalooza Trail Run and the Millican Music Festival.  **TIckets are limited to this year's Pumpkinpalooza and may run out.**

You may register for the trail run here.

Advance, online tickets to the Millican Music Festival are $10 for everyone aged 5 and up.  You may purchase your tickets from this website.

At the gate, tickets to the Millican Music Festival will be $15 for everyone aged 5 and up.

Proceeds from the event benefit the non-profit Millican Alliance.

Can I bring food or drink?

You may bring any drink of your choosing, but GLASS CONTAINERS ARE PROHIBITED.

Please do not bring food.  We encourage you to support our local food truck vendors who will have many delicious menu options available.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, due to more strict safety guidelines in 2020, dogs will not be allowed in Pumpkinpalooza this year.

What else should I bring?

Just bring yourself and all your friends!

On second thought, depending on the October weather, you may also want sunscreen, sunglasses, or ... sometimes ... a jacket.  Remember, it may get cold after the sun goes down!

You'll also need your wallet.  You can pay for food, and pumpkins with cash or credit card.

How can I stay up-to-date on Pumpkinpalooza?

Keep checking back here for updates!
